Natymancha Natyutsab

Learners Educational Society is organizing International level Theatre festival titled ‘NATYAMANCHA NATYUTSAB’ from 2015 under the guidance of its founder president Sri Monidip Das Sumon. The various theatre teams from Tripura, West Bengal, Assam, Delhi, Hariyana & other parts of India, Bangladesh, Uruguay (South America) have participated in this Theatre Festival in previous years. We also organized ‘Go as you like’ competitions among the school children, Santiniketani Haat, Open stage cultural programmes, Rally with the cultural persons to make this festival colorful and a grand success. 

Matribhasa Pronam Diwas

On 19th of May every year, we observe the day as Matribhasa Pronam Diwas in remembering the Bangla Bhasa Martyrs of Silchar, Assam. We had released a short movie titled JAAN DEBO OBU JOBAN NOY, based on the story of 19th of May, 1961, where 11 Martyrs gave their life in Silchar, Assam for their love and dedication to the Bengali language. The movie was based on a story of Sri Joytirmoy Roy, and was directed by Sri. Swarup Ghosh.

Online Theatre Adda

We started an online seminar and discussion in the month of May, under the title of ‘Online Theatre Adda’ for which we are patiently working on for a long time. Various theatre artists of repute from Tripuar, Assam, Bihar and Bangladesh had participated in that adda.

Theatre Tour

Out Theatre team is regular in performing Theatre Shows outside of our town as well as our state. National School of Drama (New Delhi) has already sponsored us 2 times for performing our plays outside of North East states under their Extension project. Besides the North East states, we performed in West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar etc. states with our play ‘OMANISHA’  & ‘JASHOMOTI’.

Our play ‘OMANISHA’ is also selected in the Purvottar Natya Samaroh (Golaghat, Assam) organised by National School of Drama, New Delhi.

The play ‘JASHOMATI’, ‘RAJSINGHA’, ‘OMANISHA’, ‘Ekti Totar Golpo’ is performed several times in the prestigious Theatre festivals organused by  Sangeet Natak Akademi (New Delhi).

We also performed our plays in the various prestigious Theatre Festivals of Tripura, Assam, Arunachal Prasesh, Bihar, Odisha & our neighbour country Bangladesh.

Blessings of Theatre personalities

Learners Educational Society has performed in many stages of Tripura, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal & our neighbor country Bangladesh. During this period, the members of the group meet with the renowned theatre personalities of the country. They gained the experienced & valuable suggestions from them.

Theatre Classes

We had organized ten days acting/theatre classes after the lockdown, from 3rd October to 12th October for school and college students. Smt. Hriturekha Nath (Student, NSD-New Delhi) & Sri Kaustabh Chakroborty (Alumni, NSD-TIE, Agartala) were present there to teach the participants. Almost 20 students were present there in the class. After completing the programme, students presented a free demo of the acting/theatre class on 14th of October at NATYA SRISTI, Dharmanagar.

Kobi Sammelon (Poets’ meeting)

Dharmanagar is well-known for its art and literacy. Our local poets and writers always spread a hand to help and advise us whenever we ask. Bearing in mind, Learners Educational Society is regularly organizing  ‘Kobi Sammelon’ – Poets’ Meeting at our rehersel space – NATYA SRISTI.      The renowned poets and writers, such as: Sri Selim Mustafa, Jyotirmoy Roy, Dipankar Gupta, Smt. Rupali Adhikari, Samar Chakroborty, Harihar Bhattacharjee, Bappa Chakroborty, Pranjoy Sinha and Abhijit Chakroborty, Milan Deb are very regular to attend such programmes.

Theatre Show

The group is very regular to organise Theatre shows in Dharmanagar & nearby towns. The group is regularly performing the recent productions of the group ‘JASHOMOTI, ‘BHALOBASAR ISKUL’, ‘OMANISHA’, ‘RAJSINGHA’, ‘HARANER BOOT JUTA’ etc.

The play ‘OMANISHA’ and ‘JASHOMATI’ has been selected by National School of Drama (NSD) to perform in the 5 different places out side of North East states.

World Theatre Day

27th March is celibrated among the Theatre artists & workers as World Theatre Day. Our organization also observe this day colourfully. 27th March is also the foundation day of our group. So, every year we celibrate this day alongwith the theatre as well as cultural personalities of this locality. From the year 2014, we are felicitating 2 (two) numbers of young theatre artists (from Tripura & Barak Valley, Assam) as ‘NABIN NATYA PRATIVA’ to encourage & recognise their works towards Theatre.
